ROOMALINE CHEMALY is a New York-based cinematographer and colorist who is originally from Haiti.
She is a recent alumna of NYU Tisch School of the Arts, where she completed her BFA at the Kanbar Institute of Film and Television with a minor in Business of Entertainment.
Her path has always been about using her skills and experiences to make a significant impact, both within her career and community. Her storytelling style is the unwavering desire to create powerful imagery that captures the essence of her subjects whether it’s a film, music video, or commercial. She is also incredibly dedicated to bringing the stories of Haiti and many other underrepresented communities to the forefront of the media landscape.
During her time at NYU, Roomaline founded Tisch’s first club dedicated to providing resources for women and non-binary people in the entertainment industry called Femmes In Film.
With the growth of Femmes In Film, she hopes to get more women/non-binary people onto sets and encourage them to break boundaries within the industry.
